Its whale watching paradise at the Whale Watching platform located above the cliffs on the Gerringong Headland. Sit & watch the whales migrate north from late May to July and south from September to November. So now is the time to see the mum's & bubs playing on their way back down our coastline.

About 20,000 whales are expected to make the journey south along the NSW coastline.
Those migrating were predominantly humpback whales, migrating from the cold waters of Antarctica to the tropical waters of Queensland, where they breed and have their babies.
Werri Beach is a classic surfing beach, with point breaks at both ends of the beach. There’s often a nice wave off either the north or south headland, with swimming spots nearby.
The beach is patrolled over the Summer season weekends and school holidays.
Not keen to jump in the surf but want to enjoy the salt water anyway? The Werri Rockpool offers swimming with stunning views and without the waves. Days with big surf high tides can see the water surging over the edges for an exhilarating experience.
Located at the north end of Werri Beach, the lagoon is popular with families with young children for swimming in shallower, calmer waters. It’s also a good spot to drop in a line or go for a canoe.
The Lagoon is also the beginning point of the Kiama Coast Walk. Occasionally it might be open to the sea, meaning you will need to wade across it.
One of the most popular and spectacular outdoor activities is to walk the stunning Gerringong-Kiama Coast Walk. Wander past headlands, rivers, beaches, Little Blowhole, Blowhole Point then onto Kiama town centre. The first 6km between Werri Beach and Loves Bay offer invigorating unspoilt vistas. You will find route markers and interpretative signs along the way. Keep an eye out for whales (May to November) and sea eagles and hawks all year round. You can continue on as far as Minnamurra.
Swimming, picnics and fishing are all possible at the shady protected Boat Harbour, located at Cooke Park. Toilets and BBQ facilities are available. Don’t miss the historic sea pool… following the footpath around to discover another one of Gerringong’s hidden gems.
Over 100 years ago this was the local ladies’ pool. The men’s pool is still just visible across the bay, but it has been largely retaken by the tides now.
